I use the economy pannier from Jandd. Just note that the Timbuk2 and Jandd bags are "water resistant", not waterproof. Eventually, you'll commute in the rain,.

jandd commuter pannier

The most acceptable pannier I have found, so far, is made by Jandd jandd. The rack attachments conceal and the pannier has an atttachable shoulder strap for carrying off the bike. If you need panniers or it the plural pannier? On those occasions my stuff has stayed perfectly dry. I've replaced bits and pieces of the suspension over the years, so I don't think adding Arkel suspension to my old bag would help much. Since most sleeping pads and tent poles are much shorter than they used to be, it seems that the long tube is overkill. Ranier, sold it for the price of the more expensive Ranier, and after I got the Sundowner and confirmed the return with them by phone, refused to take it back when I sent it to them They don't seem to care about individual complaints. Shoulder straps are zipped into the inner side of the pannier. Arkels' Hook System is fully adjusttable so you can have the bag as far back as need be and it wont come off. BTW - they also make a great bag to go on top of your rack! I can not imagine why this was a concern of the one customer. I've used it on different bikes and trikes and it is great. Benthead, did you see their RT60s? I wonder if my LBS has any yet. The pannier was made by Rhode Gear, so I called them up to see what they might have in the way of a close replacement. I also use the bag for my carry-on when I fly. I have these and there are two detachable tube pockets. The combination of Arkel backpack and briefcase laptop panniers would make a really nice set for my commutes. While pricey, they are garanteed for life. They are designed for bents. My old bag has two pockets. If you don't have a huge amount of stuff to carry for commuting I highly recommend this pannier. I really love the RT's so far.

View Full Version : Pannier for commuting. It's been carried on four different bikes, the most recent being a P and a Tour Easy. FogDog did not come through on their end. I've never been in a Monsoon with it, but have ridden in the rain several jandd commuter pannier.

Bob - I visited the Arkel booth at Interbike, and was quite impressed with their panniers. I wonder how well it will haul read more My beloved year-old commuting pannier is dying.

Highly recommended or use a different shoulder strap if you already have one. With those two huge panniers on my rear rack, and my older set of Serratus panniers on my lowrider, I can fit all of my touring gear inside the panniers without anything connected externally.

I will definitely be considering a set for my next tour. I've used jandd commuter pannier Bug backpack pannier for a few years now. I just bought one for backpacking.

Oh, and yes, it is pricey. I use at least one of them every day for commuting, shopping, touring, etc I've never actually used the "tubes" yet, but they would be useful if I needed the space. Very functional, and I even think they look cool.

I've got a set of RT's. I bought a pannier from FogDog Sports. The smaller side pocket carries my wallet, keys, pens and pencils, etc. In fact, if I try hard enough, I can cram by tent, sleeping bag, and Thermarest inside a single RT Usually I just use one RT for my commute, and it has plenty of room to spare.

At first Https://2chat.ru/2020/bureau-veritas-marine.html jandd commuter pannier it in the tube as suggested by Arkel, but there is so much room in the panniers that after a few days, I jandd commuter pannier rolled it up and put it in the pannier, it is just long enough.

Unfortunately, Rhode Gear is now out of the pannier business. If your bags are good then just buy read article pair of Arkel's Hooks and put them on your bags. Anyone have any other suggestions jandd commuter pannier a commuter pannier that might satisfy my needs?

If you ride in any sort of jandd commuter pannier weather, they would be ideal. If so how do they look? I was skeptical about using it as a backpack, but it is as comfortable as any small backpack that I have used.

Like many others have said, the design and construction of the Arkel panniers is incredible. Funbun: Unfortunately, the bag part of my pannier is pretty shot. I have thought about seeing if they will do a set with two short tubes instead - one for pad and one for tent.

The bag works well for me, carrying both clothes, lunch and paperwork. I made a set of panniers from Arkel's hooks system. I advise that you buy them from anyone else. I much prefer a symmetric design that can be carried on either side, and that wouldn't look "funny" when it is being carried off the bike by its shoulder strap.

The main pocket carries my work clothes, typically jandd commuter pannier, undershirt, and shirt, and my lunch. I was the customer that Benthead was refering to when he jandd commuter pannier that the long tube was too long.

My 2 cents

My Thermareast barely can be squeezed into the long tube and the short tube pocket holds my tent with several inches of space at the top left over. At times I have to carry a laptop as well. So let me clairify, Thermarest makes more compactable thermarest that will fit in a small tube. Without the long tube sticking up there was less wind resistance. One side of the pannier is cut away for heel clearance, and they are sold for either the right of left side of the bike. Vic - Check out the new backpack pannier from Arkel - it was pretty cool!!!! I carry my wallet, keys, ID badge, change, etc. I think you will be very happy with it. It's the right size and since you only need one, you can have a spare. One thing that deters me is that Jandd makes their panniers specifcially for DF bikes. I'd like to see it in person. I have spoken with a few customers since Interbike re. So I am looking for suggestions for a replacement. The only concern that someone had was the fact that the long tube that is used for a sleeping pad that straps onto the back of one pannier is too long. They mislabled both on their website and on the eBay listing a Sundowner as a Mt. All the descriptions point to its ability to carry papers and a laptop. Maybe more, since the stiffner in the back keeps hard objects from digging into your back. Just a strait bag, no cut for foot clearance crap. Just remove pannier from bike, unzip a zipper, and you have an instant backpack! Thank both of you for the feedback. Are they hugh? I also purchased the rain covers and shoulder strap. I have been using the Jandd commuter briefcase for many years both on my DF and my bent. I'm not about to spend a few hundred bucks on panniers again, however. They hold 60L and are beautifully made. Cletus: I like the Arkel Briecase. Hey Dana, Yeah, that looks pretty cool. However, on my last tour I used my old thermarest. Arkel lists contact information -- it wouldn't hurt to write them and ask.
